Love - 80's Glam Sharpie

This week I (finally) bought the limited edition Sharpie’s 80’s Glam set of five! Now, I am a HUGE sharpie fan! I love my sharpies! Any reason I have to buy one I do! From metallic to tradition sharpies are my favourite!

I usually buy the classic fine point sharpies – so that’s the size I bought for the 80’s Glam! The colours in the 80’s Glam pack are Argyle Green, Banana Clip Yellow, Jellie Pink, Leg Warmer Orange and Valley Girl Violet. What I’ve found so far are all great qualities to these pens!

All the Good:

-The colours are awesome! Very true to theme and they appear as you would expect (the lids matter the pigment)!
- Flow is amazing! So sharpies you really have to battle with the get a good colour out of (metallic sharpies are a perfect example) but these, right out, are perfect!
- They cover extremely well! One coats and your done (no white shows through), no need to ball your paper trying to go over it will layers!
- What I am most impressed with however is the amount of pigment in these pens! A lot of sharpies when used on coloured paper turn into different colours – but not these! All the colours hold quite true to the original ink on white!

All The Bad:

Okay, there’s only one bad – but I thought it should be mentioned…
- Although this is something you’ll find with all new sharpies is extra true with these. They are incredibly stiff when you first begin using them. If you plan to cover a whole area right after opening them you can forget it! You’ll have to dull the tips before getting any significant area covered.

Love - Band Of Brothers

I’m a huge war movie fan! I find wars and the ways in which wars were fought very interesting. The war I read and watch most is World War II (probably the most famous war in the history of the world).

I recently watched an older HBO series entitled “Band Of Brothers” presented by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.

This series follows a single company’s movements and progression through out the war. It starts in the early years of the 1940’s in a USA training camp for Easy Company. As the series and episodes progress you see the emotions of the soldiers and the attitudes they hold towards the war. In addition, you see the successes and failures of the company that ultimately lead to the victory of the Allied Forces in the mid 1940’s.

“Band of Brothers” is an incredible show! By following the individuals through a single company in the war this show presents a personal connection to the members of Easy Company. This highlights one of the main points in the story – that when people regard the war we hear staggering figures about the causalities and the number of people who died but the only name most people know is Hitler’s. “Band of Brothers” does a fantastic job of bringing to life the members and individuals within Easy Company. By creating this personal connection to the members of the company it brings to life the real tragedy of losing lives in the war.

Although this series is incredibly powerful and moving it is not for the faint of hearts. Band of Brothers can be incredibly graphic and violent; so be prepared to see soldiers with lost limbs and the horror of a life in combat. If you believe you can bare through these elements of the series please watch it! It’s moving and a story I won’t soon forget!

They depended on each other and the world depended on them.
